The Barn on New River is a wedding & event venue nestled in the mountains of North Carolina just 15 minutes from historic downtown West Jefferson.
Directions
As you get closer to The Barn, some cell service providers have no signal. Relying on your cell phone, for GPS directions, may not be feasible. Car GPS services should continue to work. We highly recommend that you bring Google directions and bring this enclosed direction card, as an alternative, if service is lost.
From Blowing Rock, Boone, Asheville (West)
As you approach The Barn, follow these steps: Once you get on US-421 S, go to US-221 N, turn left. Once on US-221 N most GPS will direct you to turn right onto Idlewild Rd, which is an option; however, to avoid 2 miles of narrow, gravel roads and stay on State maintained paved roads, follow these directions. This will add 3 miles; however, an easier drive. After turning left onto US-221 N, continue for 6.3 miles. Turn right onto Water Tank Rd., continue 3.3 miles. Turn right onto Lower Nettle Knob Rd., continue 2 miles. Turn right at The Barn on New River sign and veer left onto the Private Drive, Go 1 mile on gravel, curvy driveway to the The Barn.
From Charlotte, Chapel Hill (East)
As you approach The Barn, follow these steps: Turn right onto NC-16 N, continue 16.3 miles. Turn left onto NC-163 W, continue 1.1 miles. Turn left onto Idlewild Rd., continue 2 miles. Turn right onto Canoe Gap Rd., continue 1 mile. Turn left onto Hartzog Ford Rd. (which changes to Lower Nettle Knob Rd), continue 1.2 miles. Turn left at The Barn on New River sign and veer left onto the Private Drive. Go 1 mile on gravel, curvy driveway to The Barn.
From Holiday Inn, West Jefferson (East)
Take a left out of The Holiday Inn onto US-221 Business S for 4/10ths of a mile. Turn right onto US-221S, continue 3/10ths of a mile. Turn left onto Nettle Knob Rd (which will change to Lower Nettle Knob Rd.), continue 6.1 miles. Turn right at The Barn on New River sign and veer left onto the Private Drive. Go 1 mile on gravel, curvy driveway to The Barn.
